Acting Head of Drama, Channel 4

Luke Alkin recently joined Channel 4 as Acting Head of Drama working closely with Tessa Ross. The department commissions from a wide range of independent producers and recent drama output at that channel has included Skins, Britz and Boy A. Since taking up the position, Luke has overseen production on upcoming dramas including Fallout, adapted by Roy Williams from his acclaimed play, Tom Hurndall written by Simon Block and directed by Rowan Joffe and Poppy Shakespeare adapted by Sarah Williams from Claire Allen's book, directed by Ben Ross.

Prior to Channel 4, Luke worked at BBC Films as a development executive. During this time, his credits have included I CAPTURE THE CASTLE, THE GATHERING STORM, OUT OF CONTROL, TOMORROW LA SCALA and BULLETBOY. Luke produced DIRTY WAR and LEARNERS for BBC drama and the feature film GROW YOUR OWN directed by Richard Laxton and written by Frank Cottrell Boyce for BBC Films, the UK Film Council and Pathe.
